Daylight Studio Facilitator (London)
We’re offering the opportunity for an Islington resident to train with us to become a Music Session Facilitator to the disabled community of Islington, and beyond.
The successful applicant will initially undergo a 9-month program consisting of: one-to-one training, shadowing, and direct experience creating music. This process aims to skill the successful applicant in our ways of working and teach them how to incorporate their personal music-making style into their sessions.
On meeting our expectations in the program, Daylight will establish the new facilitator with a client base (worth approx. £700/month) as well as supporting them to grow it. There would be an ongoing minimum expected weekly commitment of 5 x 1-hour music sessions.
Training & Development process (9 months)
Stage I (3-months): Direct training and shadowing with Jack (our current facilitator) and existing Daylight Studio artists. In this period we will introduce you to our ‘Way of Working’, and figure out together how we can bring your approach to music-making into our sessions.
Stage II (3-months): Following the direct training, you will undertake 3-months of subsidised sessions. In this period you will work independently with your own Artists. These sessions are fully subsidised, so you will have room to grow your approach to the sessions in a low-pressure environment.
Stage III (3-months): The final stage of training will be 3-months of partially-subsidised sessions. This is to help prepare your Artists to take on full payment after the program. By this point we expect you to be able to deliver music sessions to Daylight Studio’s standard. During this period we will also support you with techniques to expand your client base and we’ll advertise your services through Daylight Studio’s channels.
Post-Training commitment (ongoing)
At the end of this program Daylight Studio expects to have a passionate and expert facilitator to add to our team.
We will set you up with 5 weekly clients (approx. £700 per month) and we’ll work with you to expand this. Further to this, there’ll be many opportunities to be involved in efforts to improve and strengthen Daylight’s reach, including live performances with your clients.

DBS Information
To volunteer at Daylight Sutdio, you will need an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, as our work involves supporting vulnerable adults. If you don’t already have a suitable DBS check, Daylight can arrange this for you.
To complete the DBS process, you'll need to provide original identification documents — such as a valid passport or driving licence, along with proofs of address like bank statements or utility bills. Please note that we cannot accept downloaded documents or screenshots; we must see the original paper versions or official hard copies.
This process is a standard safeguarding requirement for anyone volunteering with vulnerable adults in the UK and helps us ensure a safe and supportive environment.
